Calling all artists

Chicago Jazz Philharmonic (CJP) is seeking a creative, colorful, lyricalposter design to promote our 20th Anniversary season! This design competition is open to all artists, including students. The winning artwork will be featured as a large format printed poster and on other products sold by CJP, as well as distributed in public spaces as a distinctive signature of CJP’s season.

Theme: Chicago Jazz Philharmonic’s 20th Anniversary

Chicago Jazz Philharmonic is thrilled to celebrate our 20th Anniversary with everyone! Through any illustrative visual medium, artists can represent the excitement, history, and impact CJP has had in Jazz.

Background

Music has the power to change lives. This core belief has always been at the heart of our organization. When musicians and lifelong friends Orbert Davis and Mark Ingram saw the powerful impact of the arts on elementary school students, they founded a music education program to expand the number of lives music could touch. In 2004, Orbert Davis received an invitation from the Jazz Institute of Chicago to “Think Big” when planning his appearance at that year's Jazz Festival, and the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic was born.

Brand Vision

Art, accessibility, and diversity. We bring diverse perspectives together through education and performance. Our work with young people makes music education and performance more accessible while also building valuable life skills.
